Despite the severity of the crash, Silva Molina survived. Miami-Dade authorities confirmed that he suffered minor injuries, received medical treatment and was subsequently released from the hospital.
The other pilot, 55-year-old Joseph Carol, also survived the crash and was released after receiving treatment for minor injuries.

The incident occurred Sunday, September 6, 2026, when a Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft operating a Prime Air flight for Amazon overran Runway 30 at Miami International Airport.
The aircraft was operated by North Carolina-based 21 Air on behalf of Amazon. It had arrived at Miami from San Juan, Puerto Rico, with Silva Molina and Carol as the two crew members aboard.
After leaving the runway, the aircraft traveled beyond the paved surface and struck vehicles near the airport. The crash produced a major emergency response involving firefighters, law enforcement and other emergency personnel.

Authorities said the aircraft struck a Ford Econoline van carrying seven workers from Professional Ocean Service Corp., a company that provides cleaning services for aircraft at Miami International Airport.
Five of the people in the van died, while two others were injured. The plane also struck a Toyota Corolla Cross outside the airport perimeter.
Investigation Into Miami Plane Crash
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Investigators have recovered the aircraft’s cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder as they work to establish what happened during the landing. The aircraft reportedly traveled approximately 1,300 feet beyond the paved runway before crossing a fence and striking vehicles.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not established a final cause for the accident.
Weather conditions, aircraft performance, runway conditions, air traffic control and other factors may all form part of the investigation, but no conclusion should be drawn until the NTSB completes its work.
