The Fairfax County, Virginia, community is mourning the tragic death of a 13-year-old Fairfax County Public Schools student who was killed Wednesday afternoon after being struck by a large truck while riding a bicycle in Fairfax City.

Earlier in September, another FCPS student was struck by a vehicle while walking to South Lakes High School in Reston. That 16-year-old student survived with minor injuries, according to authorities.
